All-purpose luminaire housing

The invention relates to a handy all-purpose luminaire housing which can be equipped both with lamps operated at mains voltage, for example compact fluorescent lamps, and low-voltage systems or battery-operated electrical devices. The all-purpose luminaire housing can be manufactured in an extremely simple manner by plastic injection moulding and can be plugged together without any secondary treatment. When folded together it fits in any briefcase but can also be rapidly and easily coupled together with further luminaires in a restricted space, possibly to form large-scale illumination installations, for example for individual illumination systems in laboratories, workshops, galleries and the like.
