A MAGNETIC FASTENING SYSTEM FOR A DENTAL PROSTHESIS

A magnetic attachment assembly for use in dental and craniofacial prosthetics and other body prosthesis. The assembly (12) consists of a fixture unit on an implant post (20) having a magnetisable upper portion, and a corresponding magnet (10) to be retained in the prosthesis, whereby the prosthesis is held in place on the body. The magnet has an overlapping skirt portion (30A) which inhibits lateral slippage of the prosthesis when worn and of castings during the impression transfer method of prosthesis formation.
