In a safety valve with a valve spindle, a bell-shaped lifting aid arranged at its free end, and a valve cone which is arranged inside the lifting aid, has an annular groove at its circumferential surface and is held so as to be axially and radially movable to a limited extent on the lifting aid by means of an open spring ring engaging in the annular groove, the functional reliability is increased owing to the fact that the lifting aid has a groove in its circumferential surface and a through-bore starting from this groove, and that the spring ring inserted in this groove of the lifting aid, with an end bent to the inside, reaches through the through-bore into the annular groove at the valve cone.
