PURPOSE:To provide an image evaluating device which can automatically evaluate the linearity of line images and the relative positional deviation of each color from a reference color. CONSTITUTION:A scan type densitometer 21 scans an evaluating subject image including a line image at plural points set along the line image and in the direction crossing the line image and measures the density distribution of the line image at each scanning point. Then an image evaluation value calculating part 26 decides the center of a line at each scanning point based on the density distribution of the line image measured by the densitometer 21, calculates a reference line representing the line image from the center of the line at each scanning point, and evaluates the linearity of the line image based on the distance between the reference line and each center of the lines set at each scanning point. |
