<p>The Device presented enables energy lost by a braking vehicle to be stored and returned to the same vehicle to assist acceleration. Energy is stored in a spiral spring (M) that is made to rotate on its axis when a disk (dc2) unit connected to it is moved by an electromagnet (EMC) against another disk (dc1) connected to the engine. The stored energy is released when the disk (ds1) unit is moved in the opposite direction against another disk (ds2) mechanism that transmits the rotational motion to the wheels. The device is actuated by electrical circuits that are opened or closed by engaging and releasing the brake and clutch pedals.</p> |
