PROCESS FOR SYNTHESIZING AND SELECTING SEQUENCES OF COVALENTLY BOUND COMPONENTS

A process is disclosed for the solid phase or liquid phase synthesis of selectable sequences of aminoacids of monosaccharides, the coupling sites being predetermined on a substrate. The sequences consist of determined aminoacids or monosaccharides and of undetermined aminoacids or monosaccharides at a defined position in the sequence. According to the process the synthesis of the sequence is carried out in a continuous way and comprises, the following steps: (aa) adding the determined aminoacid or the determined monosaccharide at a defined site on the substrate, and (bb) adding to the substrate a mixture of undetermined aminoacids or monosaccharides equimolar with regard to the coupling sites.
