The invention relates to a fastening device for plinth covers or similar masking profiles for cabinet furniture, for example for kitchen cabinet furniture, having an adapator piece, preferably of plastic, which can be supported on a furniture part and has fastening projections for height-adjustable arrangement of a plinth-cover holder exhibiting catch nose integral mouldings capable of being secured to the fastening projections. To be able to secure a plinth cover height-adjustably and in a fixedly locked manner with few manipulations, the plinth-cover holder is designed as a holding-down device with return catch. With a fully preassembled fastening device, it is possible to secure a plinth cover at the place of installation merely by pushing down the plinth-cover holder.
