Transportable gas tank, especially for liquefied petroleum gas, which is intended to be installed at a work site, such as a construction site, for longer or shorter periods, which comprises a known cylindrical tank, provided with filling pipe, discharge pipe and a pressure-relief valve. The invention is characterised in that the said gas tank 1 is stationed in a freight container 5, provided with doors 6 at one end, that a piping system 7 comprising sprinkler nozzles 8 is provided in the container, the connecting pipe 9 of which piping system runs through the wall 10 of the container so that the connection piece 11 of the connecting pipe 9 is located outside the container, and that a pipe 15 runs from the said pressure-relief valve 4 through the wall 16 of the container, so that it opens up outside the container. <IMAGE>
