An Acetobacter sp. BPR 2001 strain, an endogenous plasmid pAH4 originating therein, and a shuttle vector constructed from the plasmid and a plasmid originating in Escherichia coli. This vector can be utilized in the genetic recombination of cellulose-producing acetobacters.
