In order to form artificial oases, the invention proposes to subdivide the roofed-over area of the solar chimney power system, by means of an intermediate roof (6), into a planting area (8) located above the ground surface (7) and a flow area (9) which is located thereabove and is intended for channelling air to the rotor of the solar chimney. The rotor energy serves for driving groundwater pumps, by means of which the planting area (8) is watered and good cultivation conditions for plants are thus provided in dry and desert areas.
