The invention relates to a medical instrument for introducing and aspirating fluids into and out of body cavities, especially for minimally invasive surgery, comprising a suction/rinsing tube, connected tubing lines, a control unit and a control line for controlling the pressure and suction pumps by means of an electronic evaluator. The object of the invention, that is to improve a medical instrument of the generic type such that it guarantees fault-free, infinitely variable control of medically applicable functions in a moist, corrosive environment as well as optimum handling and is at the same time sterilisable with hot steam and can be produced economically, is achieved in that the control unit is formed by a compressible bellows with connected lever mechanism and is connected to the suction/rinsing tube via an adapter receptacle and an adapter that is moveable in the adapter receptacle and in which there is inserted a tube receptacle for insertion of a tube piece movable therein, as well as outlets for connection of the suction/rinsing lines (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
