Cageless rolling-contact bearing

A rolling-contact bearing without a cage but with a full set of rolling elements is provided with different track cross-sections in the loaded zone 4 and the unloaded zone 5 of the stationary race 1. In the unloaded zone 5, the rolling elements 3 roll on a smaller rolling radius R2 than in the loaded zone 4. As a result, they are accelerated as they enter the loaded zone 4 and in each case leave a smaller gap a with respect to the next. Wear is thus avoided. <IMAGE>
