<p>A document sorter (21) for a document dispenser (11) comprises a feeding apparatus (41) for feeding documents (13) to a document feed path (91), a conveyance apparatus (43) mounted along the document feed path (91) for conveying documents (13) along the document feed path (91), and a directing apparatus (45) mounted across the document feed path (91) at a 90 degree angle to the feed path (91) for selectively directing documents (13) along the feed path (91) or for selectively directing documents (13) from the feed path into a selected bin (19) of the document dispenser (11). The directing apparatus (45) includes a plurality of rotatable selector rotors (101) mounted across the document feed path (91) at a 90 degree angle to the document feed path (91), and a D.C. motor (109) for driving each selector rotor (101) in a clockwise direction or a counter-clockwise direction of rotation, as desired.</p> |
