摘要 PURPOSE:To accelerate heating and cooling of a thermal head, whereby improve printing quality and speed by conducting heat energy from a thermal head heating element to heat transfer members one by one through heat accumulation and transfer action and thermally recording with heat energy released from the heat transfer members. CONSTITUTION:If heating elements 11 of a thermal head 1 are selected in accordance with recording data, and heated by pulsating an electric current, heat energy is released (B) and then is conducted to a heat transfer needle 22 of a heat transfer member 2 to be accumulated, while some is transferred to the other end of said needle. Heat released from the other end of the needle 22 is conducted to a thermal transfer sheet 3 to melt ink, thus transferring the ink to the recording paper 4 side. That is, the release of heat energy from the heating element 11 to the heat transfer needle 22 occurs only during a brief time in which both are in close contact. However, a printing process of recording paper 4 by heat energy accumulated in the heat transfer needle 22 is performed during a comparatively longer time until the heat transfer needle 22 reaches a drive roller 5. This operation is carried out each time new heat transfer needles 22 of the heat transfer member 2 reach the heating element 11 one after another.
