[Class 20 (iv)] [Also in Group XXV] A device for securing a panel P, or moulding 35 to a sheet-form support S comprises a sheetmetal member having a stamped-out tongue projecting from its rear surface and bent to provide a shoulder 15 and part 16 parallel to but spaced from the main part of the member, and a detent 18 also stamped out to project from the rear face of the member. In use the device is applied to the support by inserting tongue 15, 16 into an aperture 2 in the support and moving it so that it embraces one edge of the aperture as shown, detent 18 at the same time abutting against the opposite wall of the aperture. The main part of the device may be flat or, as shown, arched at 13, 17 to aid resilience. Fig. 2 shows the application to securing panel P by bolt 19, the device having integral tongues 11, 12 adapted to engage the threads of the bolt which is passed through a registering aperture 1. In place of tongues 11, 12 the device may be provided with an anchored nut to receive the bolt. In Fig. 6 the device is bent to provide spring tongues 33, 34 to secure the moulding strip 35 to the support. Specification 514,983, [Group XXV], is referred to. |
