A silver halide photographic material comprises a support and at least one silver halide emulsion layer provided thereon. The support is essentially composed of poly(ethylene-2,6-naphthalate) and has Young's modulus of 550 to 650 kg/mm<2> in both lengthwise direction and widthwise direction and breaking elongation of not less than 70 %.
