PURPOSE:To obtain a herbicide for paddy field effective against cockspur-grass, etc., by combining a phenoxypyrimidine derivative with 3-(2'-fluoro-4'-chloro-5'- cyclopentyloxyphenyl)-5-isopropylideneoxazolidine-2,4-dione. CONSTITUTION:The herbicide composition is produced by combining (A) a phenoxypyrimidine derivative of formula I (R is H, alkyl, halogen-substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, halogen-substituted alkenyl, alkynyl, halogen- substituted alkynyl or alkoxyalkyl) with (B) 3-(2'-fluoro-4'-chloro-5' cyclopentyloxyphenyl)-5-isopropylideneoxazolidine-2,4-dione of formula II at a weight ratio of preferably 1:(1-100). Major weeds in paddy field, especially cockspur-grass, are effectively controlled by the single application of a small amount of the composition at an arbitrary stage within the period before the emergence of weeds to the growing stage of the weeds. It has high safety also to paddy rice plant. |
