PURPOSE:To obtain a raw material feeder used for stably producing a preform, etc., for optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:This feeder is equipped with a raw material tank 1 housing a raw material liquid for glass fed through a pipe (6c) under pressure and provided with heating side heaters (2a) and (2b) and a heating bottom face heater (2c) on the outer periphery and a pipe (6d) for leading the raw material gas vaporized in the raw material tank 1 to a reactional vessel. Unevennesses 3 are formed on the inner wall surface of the raw material tank 1 and the heating with the heaters (2a) and (2b) provided in the side wall is separately controlled.
