PURPOSE:To produce natural blue dye violacein and to dye with the dye. CONSTITUTION:A natural dye consisting of violacein is produced by inoculating either or both of bacteria of genera Chromobacterium and Janthinobacterium to a liquid medium, culturing the microorganism in the liquid medium to grow it, fractionating the cultured solution, where the microorganism is multiplied, to liquid portion and cell body and extracting a natural dye consisting of violacein from either or both of the liquid portion or the cell body. A fiber product is dyed with the natural dye consisting of violacein by immersing it in the culture solution where the microorganisms are grown or in a solution where e.g. an alcohol solution of violacein is dissolved in water and rising the temperature of the solution. The liquid medium to inoculate the microorganism is incorporated with a decomposition product of animal hair. |
