PURPOSE:To obtain natural taurine suitable for the preparation of a nutrient- enriched drink, usable as an additive for a drink without varying the taste and flavor of the drink owing to the colorless, odorless and tasteless nature of the agent and free from side effect by treating boiled soup of abalone by a specific method. CONSTITUTION:Meat of abalone is heat-treated at a specific temperature and boiled down for a definite period. The boiled soup is subjected to spontaneous fermentation and spontaneously dried at a specific temperature to obtain granular crystal. Acicular crystal of natural taurine is selected from the granular crystal. Concretely, 1 ton of abalone meat is incorporated with 144 liters of fresh water and heated at 180 deg.C for 1.5hr. The boiled soup is boiled down at 130 deg.C for 1hr and then at 70 deg.C for 3hr and the concentrated soup is fermented in a closed vessel at room temperature (>=15 deg.C) for 6 months. The fermentation product is spread on a polyurethane sheet in the form of a thin layer and dried in a room at 5-10 deg.C for 48hr to effect the crystallization of taurine. |
