A s t r a c t The invention relates to early-rain-resistant jointing compounds containing - aqueous polymer dispersions (I) - nonionic cellulose ethers (II) from the group consist ing of hydroxyethyl, hydroxyethyl methyl, hydroxypropyl methyl and hydroxypropyl cellulose - fillers and - optionally typical additives, such as pigments, plasticizers, extenders, thickeners, foam inhibitors, dispersion aids, pH regulators, preservatives and antiagers which can be produced by thorough mixing of (I) with the other constituents. To be able to introduce (II) in quantities above the solubility limit, the jointing compounds are characterized in that (II) is added and intermixed in retarded form in admixture with the fillers.
