PURPOSE:To provide a guide device for a visually handicapped person, which can be used for a long time by providing a dry battery as a power supply part, the consumption of which is low. CONSTITUTION:A guide device for a visually handicapped person is so constructed that plural magnets are arranged on guide needed spots of a walking surface in such a manner that the magnetic poles thereof are made different and combined, and a stick which a visually handicapped person has is provided with a magnetic pole discriminating circuit 7 for discriminating whether the magnetic pole of the magnet is N-pole or S-pole and outputting a signal and a signal converting means 8 for converting a signal output from the magnetic pole discriminating circuit 7 to information which can be sensed by the visually handicapped person. Further, the guide device for a visually handicapped person comprises a magnetism sensing switch 5 installed between the magnetic pole discriminating circuit 7 and the power supply part 4. Thus, the magnetism sensing switch 5 is installed between the magnetic pole discriminating circuit 7 and the power supply part 4, so that the amount of time when the magnetic pole discriminating circuit 7 is in the stand-by state is small and the power consumption is low. |
