PURPOSE: To obtain a log holding system adjustable more simply and accurately than conventional type. CONSTITUTION: This is a clamp device to hold a log during the time a log saw or a log cutter cuts out rolls of multi-purpose wiping paper such as toilet paper roll, kitchen towel and the like from a paper log. The clamp device has a pair of adjustable symmetrically arched strips 212, 214 applied to supporters 207 on both sides of the cut face T-T passing through a cutter edge against respective log supporting rod. Those strips made of elastic material have such tendency that their edges are elastically deformed outward. Straps 222 are put onto support holders 224 and an adjusting holder 246. Driving means 240, 262, 218 simultaneously adjust the symmetrical rotary movement of two cradles on sustaining strips on the cradles. |
