<p>PURPOSE:To provide a sheet feeder having few number of part items and easy to switch the longitudinal and transverse feeds by providing a moving means lifting or lowering the uppermost sheet stored in a sheet feed cassette, and opening or closing the side plates surrounding the bottom plate of the sheet size from four directions in response to the movement of the cassette or a sheet feed section. CONSTITUTION:The first and second sheet units storing sheets of different sizes are arranged above the sheet feed side, and the second sheet storage section 29 is provided with a drawer case 60, a cassette 61 removably fitted in it, and a moving means 43 lifting the cassette 61 to the sheet feed position at the uppermost section. The cassette 61 is constituted of a bottom plate of the regular sheet size and side plates 63a-63d, the side plate 63a can be opened when sheets are conveyed, and a member positioning the sheets and screws are not required. One of adjacent side plates for a transverse feed of another cassette can be opened. When the fitting position is changed to either side as the sheet feed side, the longitudinal feed and transverse feed of sheets can be made with one cassette.</p> |
