PURPOSE:To provide an information recording medium having a diffraction grating capable of reproducing accurate information without losing a decorative effect. CONSTITUTION:A diffraction grating pattern 4 is formed on an infrared ray absorption layer 2 having substantially no absorption for a visible light region and containing an infrared ray absorbing substance for absorbing an infrared light on a base material 1. Since the absorption layer does not absorb substantially the visible light region but absorbs a light of the infrared region, even if the material is irradiated with a laser light, a reflected light is not generated, and hence accurate information can be reproduced. Since the absorption layer exhibits white, a decorative effect is not impaired. |
