<p>PURPOSE:To use a simple material in a low cost and to realize the reducing of S together with the reducing of Si in molten iron in a blast furnace by injecting hydrocake as the residue, produced in a process extracting Mg from sea water, from a tuyere in the blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:The sea water is reacted with limemilk after removing carbonic acid to produce hydroxide. The reactional product is vacuum-filtrated after concentrating with a thickener, and the obtd. Mg(OH)2 slurry is electrolyzed to obtain Mg. Then, the hydrocake (MC slag) having MgO and CaO as the main components and low SiO2 concn. is produced as the residue. This MC slag is injected from the tuyere into the blast furnace, in which ore and coke are alternately charged as layer-state and by blowing hot blast from the tuyere, the ore is preheated, reduced, softened and melted and molten iron is tapped off. This MC slag is dried to make powdery state or can be used in the condition of the slurry or in the case of being in fear of temp. drop in the blast furnace, it is preferable to inject the MC slag together with fine pulverized coal from the tuyere of the blast furnace.</p> |
