PURPOSE:To obtain an agent for controlling white root rot, capable of exterminating the pathogen of white root rot and healthily growing the root of crop at the same time and enabling safe control of white root rot over a long period without causing environmental pollution with agrichemicals. CONSTITUTION:The agent for controlling white root rot is a combination of (A) a microbial strain belonging to the genus Trichoderma (e.g. Trichoderma viridae IFO 9066 and Trichoderma polysporum IFO 9322), (B) an organic acid, preferably citric acid, malic acid or itaconic acid and (C) an organic fertilizer such as easily liquefiable material e.g. fish soluble, decomposed animal protein extract and gelatin. The above three components are applied at the same time or staggering the application timings to control white root rot. The organic acid and the organic fertilizer are utilized as a nutrient source for the proliferation of the strain of the genus Trichoderma and, in addition to the above, are effective for promoting rooting and giving activity to the growth of crops. |
