PURPOSE:To obtain a method of culturing marine micro-algae, stably multiplying algae, containing no highly unsaturated fatty acid, extremely raising content of docosahexaenoic acid, by culturing marine micro-algae capable of producing docosahexaenoic acid in a medium containing galactose and/or glucose. CONSTITUTION:In producing docosahexaenoic acid by culturing algae belonging to marine micro-algae, capable of producing docosahexaenoic acid and extracting docosahexaenoic acid from the multiplied algae, galactose and/or glucose in an amount to give 10.0-150.0g/l concentration is added to the medium to give a method of culturing marine micro-algae. |
