PURPOSE:To provide an ink ribbon cassette for a printer capable of inexpensively and effectively reducing printing noise by providing the head cover covering the outer periphery of a printing head between a pair of arms guiding an ink ribbon to the area between the printing head and a platen. CONSTITUTION:In an ink ribbon cassette 3 for a printer having a pair of arms 3b guiding an ink ribbon to the area between a printing head 2 and a platen 7, the cover 9 covering the outer periphery of the printing head 2 is provided between the respective arms 3b. By this constitution, printing noise is generated in the vicinity of the nose part 2a of the printing head 2 by the collision of the printing element of the printing head 2 with the platen 7 at a time of printing but a part of the sonic wave thereof passes through the head cover 9 in the vicinity of the generation source of the printing noise and the sound energy at the time of this passage is attenuated to effectively reduce printing noise. |
