PURPOSE:To chemically plate a metal on a fluoro polymer molded product by irradiating the fluoro polymer molded product with a UV laser in the presence of a hydrazine compound, and subsequently chemically plating a metal on the surface of the molded product improved in the structural characteristics and functionality to deposit the film of the metal on the surface of the molded product. CONSTITUTION:This method for chemically plating a metal on a fluoro polymer molded product comprises irradiating a fluoro polymer molded product (e.g. film, sheet, fiber or resin molded product) with a UV ray laser (preferably an argon fluorine excimer laser having a wavelength of >=250nm) in the presence of a hydrazine compound, immersing the molded product improved in its surface hydrophilicity in a stannous chlorid-hydrochloric acid mixed aqueous solution and in a palladium chloride aqueous solution, immersing the surface-activated molded product in a chemical plating bath containing a metal (preferably nickel, copper, cobalt) to tightly deposit the metal to only the laser-irradiated site. |
