PURPOSE:To reduce a paper loss due to an excessive lap by improving a rate of operation of a folding machine. CONSTITUTION:A lap adjusting data corresponding to each rotary press speed of each longitudinal page and paper quality of issued newspaper is picked up of the lap adjusting data, this lap adjusting function or lap adjusting data is fed as a command signal to an operating motor 31 of a control unit 30, this operating motor 31 is driven to rotate lap adjusting mechanisms 32 to 36, 38, a phase adjusting helical gear 26 is turned in a circumferential direction relating to a drive helical gear 5, and a fold position in a point end part 4a of a fold blade 4 is moved in a circumferential direction of a fold barrel 21 relating to a piercing position of a needle 3a. A deviation of a motor rotational speed detection signal from the above command signal is fed as a command signal to the operating motor 31, and its rotational speed is controlled till a lap is obtained within a permissible range, to adjust a lap to a specified value (permissible range 0 deg.alpha). |
