<p>PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to adjust the position of a connecting part when a plurality of recording heads are connected to constitute a recording head part of a long recording length. CONSTITUTION:A first to a fourth recording heads 411-414 are connected at respective connecting parts overlapping not smaller than a predetermined length, thereby constituting one recording head part. A multiplexer 57 switches image data 55 corresponding to the recording heads 411-414. A recording head switching signal 67 for this purpose of switching of image data is formed by determining at random from which number of pixels at each connecting part a comparator is to switch with the use of a random reference value data 65 output from a ROM table 64. Accordingly, even if the connecting position of the connecting parts is set irrespective of the positional relationship of recording elements, the switching position of the recording heads is changed at random and the deterioration of image quality resulting from the connecting position is prevented.</p> |
