The invention proposes a profile-bar system for frame structures, vehicle bodies, rack systems, workshop and laboratory apparatuses or the like which comprises profile bars (10, 11) which can be mounted on one another in a variable manner and exhibit, parallel to at least one outer surface, a groove duct (14) which is accessible via a longitudinal slot (13), runs in the longitudinal direction and is designed to receive groove nuts (21). Provided in the at least one outer surface is a moulded recess (12) which receives band-like mounting elements (19) which engage over the longitudinal slot (13) and are of corresponding cross-section. The mounting elements (19), intended for connecting the profile bars (10, 11) to one another and/or for connecting the profile bars (10, 11) to mounting surfaces, exhibit screw holes for mounting screws (20) which, in the mounted state, run through the longitudinal slot (13) and are anchored in groove nuts (21). Consequently, the mounting elements (19) serve not only to fasten the profile bars (10, 11), but, in the mounted state, they also cover the band-like moulded recesses. At the locations which are not covered by the mounting elements, said moulded recesses are covered by covering elements which are designed as reinforcement bands made from material which is stronger than the material of the profile bars and/or as plug-in covering bands, with the result that planar outer surfaces without elevations or depressions are formed, which surfaces reduce the risk of injury and improve the appearance. <IMAGE>
