Process for the continuous covering of boards of wood-based material and installation for carrying out the process

Process for the continuous covering of boards of wood-based material on at least one surface of the said board with a textured enhancing coating, which is fed to it as a starting product in web form with a thermally curable synthetic resin system. The board of wood-based material to be covered and the starting product in web form are simultaneously introduced into a continuously operating heated press with endlessly circulating untextured sheet-steel pressing bands. In the continuously operating press, the starting product is transformed into a preliminary curing state by the application of pressure and heat and is bonded with the board of wood-based material to form a composite product, which is discharged from the continuously operating press with the covering uncured. The composite product is introduced into a heated texturing calender, which is arranged downstream of the continuous press and in which the preliminary curing state of the covering is cured and at the same time the covering is provided with an impressed texture. The covering is thereby transformed into the finished enhancing coating. The board of wood-based material with the enhancing coating is subsequently cooled.
