Container for embedding tissues with insert

The invention relates to a device for taking biopsies, that is to say tissue samples removed from the living body. In order to create such a device the tissue samples are wrapped in gauze or the like before being placed in the mesh container in order to prevent them from escaping from the mesh container. Therefore, it is proposed that the insert comprise a reception block having a continuous orifice. The reception block does not absorb any liquid during treatment of the sample, has a flexible filter mesh which cannot absorb any liquid and can tightly seal at least a part-volume of the opening on both sides when the insert is housed in the sealed mesh container.
