The headlamp has a reflector (10) which reflects the light, emitted by a light source, in the form of a light bundle which is essentially produced without any optically effective elements, on a cover disc on a measurement screen (16) arranged in front of the vehicle an illuminance distribution (illumination level distribution) (18) having an upper light/dark boundary (20). The light/dark boundary (20) has on the one traffic side a horizontal section (21) and on the other traffic side an inclined section (22). For changing over the headlamp between right-hand traffic and left-hand traffic, the reflector (10) can be pivoted about its optical axis. In the position for right-hand traffic, that section (21) of the light/dark boundary (20) which is located to the left of the vertical central plane (VV) of the measurement screen (16) is arranged horizontally and that section (22) of the light/dark boundary (20) which is located to the right of the vertical central plane (VV) is arranged in an inclined manner. In the position for left-hand traffic, the reflector (10) is pivoted clockwise, seen from the rear side of the reflector, relative to the position for right-hand traffic so that that section (21) of the light/dark boundary (20) which is located to the left of the vertical central plane (VV) is inclined and the right-hand section (22) of the light/dark boundary is arranged horizontally. <IMAGE>
