In the powder-lacquering of container welds wherein fluidised powder is fed to a spray head, additional air is introduced into the powder supply line immediately upstream of the spray head so as to reduce the powder to air ratio and thereby increase the speed of the powder stream. Air is introduced tangentially into the powder supply line (15) by two pipes (35) extending either at right angles or at an obtuse angle to the axis (A) of the supply line. <IMAGE>
