Throttle valve of an internal combustion engine

A throttle housing has a duct insert forming at least one part of the duct wall and displaceable in or counter to the direction of flow opposite the swivellably arranged throttle valve. The said duct insert is provided with a recess or an elevation, which forms a throttle gap with the throttle valve located in the closed position. A displacement of the duct insert thereby permits an idling speed control of the internal combustion engine. At the same time the progression characteristic of the throttle valve can hereby be adjusted.
