Method for delivering a telephone number (N) associated with a telephone subscription to the user of a telephone instrument (20) in the context of the said subscription, the use of this instrument (20) being conditioned on the delivery by the user to the said instrument of a set of subscription identification data which are stored in an information medium (3) in the possession of the holder of the said subscription, and interacting with the said telephone instrument (20). The telephone number is stored in advance in the information medium (3) and is transferred into the telephone instrument (20) on request by the user, in order to be delivered to the user of the instrument, especially by display on a screen (2).
