The invention relates to a process for working a plastic semi-finished product furnished on one side with microrecesses as in Patent DE 4135676. The process specified in this Patent is to be further developed. For this purpose a modified process is proposed having the steps - filling and covering the microrecesses in the plastic semi-finished product with a substance which hardens between 35 DEG C and 180 DEG C, - hardening the substance and machining the side of the plastic semi-finished product not furnished with microrecesses until the microrecesses are at least partially exposed, - selectively removing the hardened substance from the microrecesses at a temperature below 140 DEG C.
