Building block for toy or model system

Toys and model systems which are based on the principle of building a three-dimensional structure from a number of parts of identical design are often complex in their form. The known solutions in this field have been produced from plastics. Production is cost-effective only if large numbers of units are made. The part developed is simple in shape and hence can be produced cost-effectively even in very small numbers. Various materials can be used: wood, plastics, metal, aluminium. The rigidity values of the assembled structures are very good, owing to positive fitting and a great deal of frictional fitting. The element is particularly well suited to the development and encouragement of three-dimensional thinking and the sense of combination and feeling in children and as an interesting mental exercise for adults. The structures which can be built range from very simple to quite complex.
