PURPOSE:To obtain a sebum suppressive agent specifically showing suppressing action on sebum secretion, not influencing other organs, containing peony or an extract thereof. CONSTITUTION:A sebum suppressive agent containing 0.005-10wt% peony powder of root of a plant of the family Paeoniaceae or essence thereof obtained by extraction treatment with water or an aqueous alcohol at 15-25 deg.C. Peony shows extremely excellent suppression on reversible local sebum, permeates into the skin extremely well, provides no irritation at all and is extremely suitable for remedying pimple and seborrhea. |
