The invention provides a device making it possible to grip a connector plug and, by actuating a lever, to subject it to a translational movement which inserts it into its base. This device furthermore comprises attachment means (18, 24) for gripping the plug of the connector, translation means (16, 20, 22) for moving the connector plug held in the attachment means, and guide means (14) for directing the movement of the plug of the connector into/out of the base.
