PURPOSE:To obtain a printer capable of selectively setting an arbitrary printing control program of a high frequency of use as a default printing control pro gram, simplifying a printing operation, and improving a printing processing efficiency. CONSTITUTION:In this laser printer, an arbitrary one, e.g. of a high frequency of use is selectively set as a default printing control program out of a plurality of printing control programs by a default setting key. On the other hand, a control code in printing data received through a data reception interface (I/F) is analyzed under printing control command system determination processing control for determining a printing control program having a command system appropriate to the control code. Therefore, a laser printing mechanism is instructed to print under the control of the determined printing control program (S40, S41). After completion of printing by the laser printing mechanism, the program is set as a default printing control program (S43, S44). |
