PURPOSE:To readily recover butyldimethylchlorosilane in high yield, having high steric selectivity in the medicinal industry, etc., considerably stable to various reagents, from t-butylpentamethyldisiloxane disposed as waste liquor currently. CONSTITUTION:In recovering t-butylpentamethyldisiloxane as t- butyldimethylchlorosilane in a method for recovering t-butyldimethylchlorosilane, butylpentamethyldisiloxane is reacted with a chlorosilane compound of the formula R<1>nSiCl4-n (R<1> is monofunctional hydrocarbon group; (n) is 0, 1, 2 or 3) in the presence of (A) a tertiary amine, its salt or quaternary ammonium salt and (B) an acid as a catalyst to give t-butyldimethylchlorosilane. tert- Butyldimethylchlorosilane is thus recovered. |
