<p>PURPOSE:To settle particulates, collected on a water surface, underwater by means of a surface active agent to efficiently remove the particulates having soot as the main component thereof in exhaust gas, by introducing the exhaust gas of a diesel engine in the inside of a box housing water and a surfactant. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust pipe 2 of a diesel engine 1 is connected to the upper-surface one-end of a box 3, and an exhaust nozzle 4 is connected to the upper-furface other-end of the box 3. Then the exhaust gas of the diesel engine 1 is introduced in the inside of the box 3, and then is discharged from the exhaust nozzle 4. Water and a surface active agent are housed in the inside of the box 3, and particulates, having soot as the main component thereof in the exhaust gas is removed by utilizing the water and surfactant. In this case, a nonionic surfactant, having an HLB(hydrophilic lipophilic balance) of 8-20, is used. On the other hand, a baffle plate 5, changing the flow of the exhaust gas, a window 6, monitoring the level of the water, and a water supply pipe 7, having an automatic water supply system 10, are arranged in the box 3.</p> |
