PURPOSE:To prevent lowering of a pulsation absorbing action owing to an influence exercised by a gap between the plate-form members of a helical pipe by a method wherein the gap is produced owing to a change in an inside diameter occasioned by caulking of a metallic pipe. CONSTITUTION:A taper part 13b the outside diameter of which is reduced in the direction of an end face is formed at the outer periphery of a metallic pipe 13. The metallic pipe 13 is pressed by means of a caulking tool having a press surface, paralleling the metallic pipe 13, from the outside of the taper part 13b to caulk the helical pipe 20. An inner peripheral taper part wherein an inside diameter is increased in the direction of an end face is formed on the inner peripheral side. Since the helical pipe 20 is fixed by means of the inner peripheral taper part, the change of an outside diameter is slowly produced at the helical pipe 20, and a gap is prevented from being formed between the plate-form members 20a and 2Ob of the helical pipe 20.
