<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a container that does not cause environmental disruption after its use and a method for producing it, by forming a film or layer of adhesive member made from a mixture of konjak (devil's tongues) and grain onto the surface of a substrate of the specific shape and size made from expanded and processed corn. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 1 is processed so that the shape and size meet the use as tableware, such as a dish or a bowl, or as a plant pot. Corn is expanded under the application of heat, put in a mold having the shape and size of the container, and formed under pressure, so that the arbitray shape is given. Because the entire surface of the substrate 1 is covered with a film or layer of adhesive member 2, it is waterproofed. As the material of the adhesive member 2, a mixture of powdered devil's tongues (konjak), soybeans, grain (miscellaneous grain), etc., is used. The adhesive member 2 is forced out of a nozzle towards the substrate. Alternatively it is immersed in a liquid for a water repellent film and then dried. Because the food is the material, the container can be eaten as it is after its use, in which case the container is not left as rubbish and this contributes to the protection of environment.</p> |
