PURPOSE:To provide an automatic announcing device requiring no wiring by calculating the position of a car based on the output of an acceleration sensor, and announcing the stop floor by sound when the car is stopped. CONSTITUTION:An acceleration sensor A1 detecting the acceleration in the vertical direction is provided at a proper position of a car, and the sensor signal is integrated by an integrator U1 to obtain the speed information. The speed information is integrated by an integrator U2 to obtain the distance information. The output signal of the integrator U2 is inputted to a microcomputer U4 via an A/D converter U3, and the speed information and the distance information are compared with the initially set distance information when an elevator is stopped to judge the stop floor. The address of a fixed recording/ reproducing device U5 is selected from this judged result, and such sound as 'first floor', for example, is announced from a speaker SP1.
