PURPOSE:To impart flame retardancy characteristics excellent in durability such as wash and dry-cleaning fastness by applying a flame retardant compound containing a specific phosphonate oligomer to a polyester-based synthetic fiber structure. CONSTITUTION:An emulsion prepared by adding a dispersing agent and a stabilizer (e.g. PVA or CMC), etc., to one of a flame retardant compound of a phosphonate oligomer, expressed by formula I, II or III (R1 is H or 1-12C aliphatic or aromatic group; R2 is 2-4C aliphatic or aromatic group; R3 is 2-4C aliphatic group; (a and (b) are 0-6; (c) is 1-6) and having 500-2000 molecular weigh is applied to woven or knit fabric, nonwoven fabric, etc., composed of polyester- based synthetic fiber to afford the objective polyester-based fiber structure, excellent in durability and having high flame retardancy. The flame retardant does not migrate to the fiber surface and the deterioration in color fastness is not caused in the treated polyester-based synthetic fiber structure. |
